NRL Las Vegas 2025 LIVE updates: Raiders take on Warriors, Panthers clash with Sharks at Allegiant Stadium

Morning one, morning all,
Welcome to what was once known as the day of rest. Not any more my friends, not in Las Vegas, and certainly not here in SMH blog land.
Not when sources speaking on the condition of anonymity have suggested there are actual games of rugby league afoot.

We’ll be bringing you the NRL season opener for Allegiant Stadium – where the Warriors and Raiders kick us off at 11am AEDT, followed by the Jillaroos v England (1:15pm) and then Penrith-Cronulla (3.30pm). And for the real sickos among us, the first of today’s offerings – Super League’s Wigan v Warrington – is an absolute carve up. Wigan are up 42-0 with more than 20 minutes to play. Warrington coach Sam Burgess is probably wishing that visa hadn’t come through after all.
In any case, that’s the greatest game of all for more than six hours on your Sunday – not too shabby – just don’t ask the NRL how much it costs alright?
We’ve got Michael Chammas, Adrian Proszenko, Billie Eder and Jordan Baker in Las Vegas on the ground, in the stands, hiding in trees if need be, to bring you the whole thing.
I’m in the Maroubra bureau and I’ll be offering mostly Hunter S Thompson quotes. Buy the ticket, take the ride.
